EBWF resident harlequin princess could be found skipping her way through the hallways of the Walls Fargo Center, humming a little tune to herself. The fiance of Trent? was off in her own little world, as usual, but something in her path caused her to pause. A rather large, imposing sight. Ryback. But that wasn't what had caught her attention. It was the person standing beside her. Paige. A.J. Lee didn't budge for a few moments. Her mind began to quickly swirl.
..Paige..friends with Maryse..Maryse..horrible, demon woman from hell that tried to kill her relationship with her beloved, soon to be husband. Within a blink of an eye she rushed towards the raven haired Women's Champion. But preventing Paige from being touched is what Ryback was there for. He gripped A.J. by the shoulders, lifted her up, and held her pinned against the wall. Her legs kicked about furiously, like some kind of little feral animal, but she was basically infant sized when compared to the powerful force holding her. In an odd twist, he wasn't trying to harm her but merely restrain her.
Paige: Do try and compose yourself.
That wasn't about to happen as A.J. was still struggling about wildly.
Paige: I understand that you relate me to Maryse. It's clear that what she did to you has had an..obvious effect on your mind. But that's the past. I'm trying to build an empire and all of our previous encounters have proved to me that you're better than the current company that you keep.
A.J. had a very skeptical look on her face as her head tilted it's self sideways.
Paige: Surely better than your useless partner. I also hold you in a much higher regard than that loathsome piece of garbage, Angelina, that I'll be soon defending against. Not to mention her equally vile partner whom took your tag titles away from you. By no fault of your own, I might add. It is, once more, the fault of those you are associated with. I'm arranging something very big, A.J. You can be a part of it. Or you can be left behind. It's your choice. You can become royalty or you can continue to wallow in filth with the likes of The Beautiful People.
Ryback gently placed A.J. back onto solid ground and the soles of her Converse All Stars. The corners of Paige's lips curled into a smile and she waved Ryback along as they departed from the hallway. A.J. looked on in bewilderment at the account of this unexpected encounter.
Renee Young was new to the EBWF but she had been informed that pro wrestlers often times selected very unusual locations for their scheduled interviews. So when she was told she would find Women's Champion Paige in a strange, underground nightclub she wasn't too thrown off. As she made her way down the steps where the club was located, she could hear a thumping beat, a strange mix of EDM and Joy Division. The entire venue was bathed in neon lights, casting pale pink and blue lights over everything they touched. The newcomer was able to find Paige in a corner booth. She was lounging against the cushions behind her seating arrangement and all around the table had been decorated with blue colored roses, which seemed to be a favorite for the Queen. Renee began to approach and Paige lifted her head to greet her.
Paige: Renee Young?
Renee: Yes, it's nice to meet you.
Renee held her hand out intending it to be shaken or at least lightly grasped. Paige did not reciprocate the gesture.
Paige: You have a lot of sudden hype surrounding you. ..Not nearly as impressive as I would have imagined.
It was difficult to determine how you were supposed to react when someone you were assigned to interview gave you a comment like that straight out of the gate. So she took a seat in the booth but kept something of distance.
Renee Young: This is a very..eccentric place for an interview.
Paige: To be quite honest, I was growing tired of speaking into a camera in a dingy locker room. No matter how well you dress it up, it's still a locker room.
She lowered a pair of fingers to take one of the expensive sweets resting on the table in front of them and slowly popped it into her mouth.
Paige: Ever so tired..
The attitude of the Women's Champion continued to grow even more snobby since winning the Queen of the Ring.
Renee Young: You make it sound like you're too good for the rest of the locker room..
Paige: Oh, do I? Well, that's only because it's true. I don't mean just the women. The men as well. You must understand that I'm not delusional. I realize that simply winning a tournament filled with Diva's who posed no real challenge to me does not truly make me a Queen. But I will carry myself like royalty and who better than someone from England? Certainly far more fitting than someone from..whatever corner of hell Angelina Love has crawled out of.
Renee Young: Are you saying that you aren't viewing Angelina as a threat?
Paige: Of course I am. Why do you think I assaulted her a few weeks ago? Am I worried about her potentially taking my title away from me? Not at all. I've defeated Angelina before, in fact, I've defeated both of The Beautiful People. There isn't a great deal they can say about me. I've obviously proven that I'm a better wrestler than both of them. Their whole deal is that they are supposed to be "pretty" but anyone with a pair of eyes can tell that I'm more attractive. They can't even use fashion as an insult since, obviously, anything I'm wearing is much more expensive and classy than their entire wardrobe.
She made a note to motion to the usual gothic-lolita style of attire she presently had on.
Paige: Wouldn't you agree? Or do you prefer the sort of nauseating attire Angelina trapezes around in?
Renee began to reply but Paige quickly cut her off.
Paige: Nevermind. I simply don't care what your opinion may be. My point is, what do they have to use against me? Nothing. It's also very telling..
Paige began her thought but paused for a moment to rub at her chin.
Paige: ..that after I attacked Angelina she didn't even attempt to extract any form of revenge. I understand that she has an incredibly simple mind but jumping someone in a hallway is even within her grasp, I feel. Surely, if someone had dropped me in the same manner that I did to her I would be out for blood. But I didn't hear so much as a threat. Oh, I heard plenty of whimpering when I laid her out, but no threats. Her little, mindless friend didn't even attempt to help her. So I must ask. Is she afraid? Or does she simply have no passion? I believe it's combination of the two. Or perhaps she's doing what we've all suspected this entire time to keep her gainfully employed? Wes Ikeda is back, you know, so perhaps he's been giving her jaw a work out..
The Queen raised her eyebrows up and down a few times after her saucy little moment and Renee looked a little taken off guard.
Paige: As I've stated before, The Beautiful People were once the top dogs around here but their time has come and gone. Very soon I may not even allow them to keep their tag titles in their possession..
Renee Young: Please don't take any offense but a lot of what you're saying seems to come from a very bitter place..
The English Diva's usually frosty expression darkened.
Paige: Is that what you think? Are you even actually a journalist? It is a bitter place. I've been treated with nothing but disrespect since the moment I stepped foot into this company. The Beautiful People were treated like stars when they arrived while I was not afforded that luxury. I had to claw and scratch my way to where I am with every conceivable obstacle thrown in front of me. I was overlooked and treated like an afterthought. When Paul Heyman created his little Coalition he promised to take myself and Maryse to the promised land. He did NOTHING for us and when he began finding new clients do you think he sought us out? No. Of course not. Maryse and I learned that if you want to get to the top, you have to make it there yourself. That's exactly what she did and that's exactly what I'm doing.
Paige leaned in closer to the interviewer and chose her words to be very precise and to the point.
Paige: Have you ever considered what would happen if a WOMAN orchestrated something that couldn't be ignored in this company? Do you think it's ever crossed Angelina Love's tiny pea brain or anyone else's?
Paige gave the blonde in front of her a few taps on her forehead and she quickly pulled back.
Paige: You haven't. Because you are simple. But it's another reason why I won't allow myself to lose to that ghastly, frightful excuse for a human being. I still plan on shattering the Women's Title. I've just yet to decide on the plan and time. To make a clear and definitive statement. Can you possibly imagine what it would be like if one of The Beautiful People could call themselves a double champion? I shudder at the thought. It would be better if I simply destroyed it than allow it to fall into her unworthy hands Or anyone else for that matter. That is why I am a Queen and I will not allow such a thing to transpire. Yes, I am a Queen and she is nothing more than Canadian trash. I've come much too far to allow someone as low as Angelina put an end to all of my hard work and tireless effort.
Renee: But there is such a lineage with a title and--
As Renee began expressing the importance of the Women's title and it's history, she felt a shadow loom over her. It belonged to Ryback who stood with his arms folded over his ridiculously sculpted body.
Paige: I'm bored with your questions and your obvious favoritism towards Angelina Love.
Paige slipped a hand onto her cheek and stifled a small yawn.
Paige: You can go now. Ryback please escort this..creature to the exit.
Despite the fact that Renee was aware that the club did not actually belong to Paige, she wasn't about to argue when staring up at a sight like Ryback. She nodded in compliance as the giant of a men led her from Paige's presence.
